  • This King Quartz 4823-8000 case fits neatly into the design language of the King Seiko mechanical line that proceeded it. The main differences being a flat crystal, flush with the bezel, and additional thickness to accommodate the robust 4823 quartz movement. The overall effect, in edition to its longer lug to lug and 36mm case diameter, is that the watch wears larger then many of its 70’s mechanical counterpart, and closer to a contemporary piece. Also noteworthy is the striking deep blue matte dial that turns myrtle green in a sunburst pattern when put into direct light. The hands and markers are polished silver with white stripes running up the center, which makes for good legibility against the matte dial.

Being a highly accurate quartz watch, with excellent legibility, and a day/date complication, this is a perfect every day watch. It’s refined enough for the office or dressed up for a formal occation. Finally, early quartz watches tend to be larger than than mechanical watches of the time, so this is also en excellent choice if a larger than average vintage watch is desired.

  • Sternkreuz High Quality Mineral Crystal: This crystal is dimensionally the same as the original, depleted Seiko OEM crystal.
