Seiko Skyliner

This particular model of Skyliner is a manual winding, thee-hand(no calendar) watch with a champagne gold sunburst dial, delphine hands and cursive script. This is a classic combination of elements in 50s and 60s fashion. However, the 6000 series Skyliners have the added benefit of being a late 60s model with a more modern manual winding movement. Watches of this style typically wear quite small, have a short power reserve and an unsprung balance; this one has larger or more contemporary sizing and a modern regulating arm, making timing accuracy much easier to accomplish. The Chapter ring is New Old Stock(the previous was tarnished and missing a portion of its markers) to match it’s near perfect dial and hands. While the back of the watch is quite tarnished under the snap-on caseback, there is no evidence that mositere has done any damage to movement, dial, and hands. This is an excellent leasure watch for a special occasion, sunday brunch or birthday - those times when you don’t really need to know what day of the week it is.
